Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. drops election day bombshell

As voters head to the polls to decide who the next President of the United States will be, all signs appear to be heading towards yet another razor thin election.

But according to former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., he doesn’t believe today’s election will even be close.

Yesterday, RFK Jr., who now has put his support behind Republican Donald Trump, said he believes Trump will win in a “landslide.”

Since dropping his own presidential campaign, RFK Jr. has vocally told his independent supporters to cast their ballots for Trump, and says this is the only way to get his ideas and beliefs into the Oval Office.

RFK Jr. has stumped for the former president on the campaign trail, and has been reported to have informally been offered posts in a future Trump Cabinet as a result of this endorsement.

Yesterday morning, RFK Jr. took to X to encourage voters across the country to back Trump “so that we can Make America Healthy Again,” paraphrasing Trump’s campaign slogan.

“A lot of people are asking me, if they live in a Red state or a Blue state, should they still be voting for me, what about swing states?” RFK Jr. said in the accompanying video. “The answer is easy: No. No matter what state you live in, you should be voting for Donald Trump.”

Despite suspending his own campaign, RFK Jr. has attempted to withdraw his name from the presidential election ballot, in an apparent effort to avoid splitting the vote for Trump.

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court denied Kennedy’s request to take his name, along with that of his running mate Nicole Shanahan, off the ballots in Michigan and Wisconsin. As a result, voters in these crucial swing states will still see the Independent option on their ballots, according to Newsweek.

On Monday, RFK Jr. said that a vote for Trump would be “the only way that we can get me and everything I stand for into Washington D.C., and fulfill the mission that motivated my campaign.”

So, we know RFK Jr. is pleading with his supporters to vote for Trump, which could contributed to a Trump victory.

But what about RFK Jr.’s belief that today’s election will be a landslide?

Despite reports that the overall race is very tight, early numbers suggest the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is already down a significant margin in swing states, based on data from early voting (which has seen record numbers).

CNN political analyst Marc Lotter yesterday said that early voting, which is typically dominated by Democrat voters, has seen a surge for Trump in some of these tightly contested vitally important states.

“The math doesn’t work,” he told viewers who likely don’t often rely on numbers, facts, or figures. “The Democrats are down 1.7 million early votes in the battleground states in urban areas. They are down 1.4 million votes in the battleground states among women voters.”

Lotter went on to remark that rural voters – another Trump demographic stronghold – have also overperformed early.

“Democrats have to win their races early. Republicans generally win them on election day.” he continued. “The margins don’t add up right now for the Democrats in any of these battleground states.”

Jim Messina, the former White House deputy chief of staff under Barack Obama, also went on-air and warned that early voting data, typically dominated by Democrat voters, are not looking ideal for Kamala’s camp right now.

“The early vote numbers are a little scary,” Messina told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki. “Republicans didn’t do what they did last time. Last time, Trump said don’t early vote so they didn’t.”

“Republicans do have an advantage in early vote numbers,” Messina continued. “When the early votes come in, it’s going to look a little bit different than 2020, and that’s scary.”
