Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady’s recent acquisition of a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders ownership group has ignited speculation about potential changes in the organization: A possible reunion with his former coach, Bill Belichick.

On Tuesday, Brady’s long-awaited bid to become a part-owner of the Raiders was finally approved. The seven-time Super Bowl winner has acquired a five percent stake in the franchise, marking a new chapter in his post-playing career.

Kirk Minihane, host of Barstool’s The Kirk Minihane Show, reported on Wednesday that Brady’s first move as part-owner might involve reaching out to Belichick.

“People have told me that Brady’s first move is to ask Bill Belichick if he’s interested of being coach of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Minihane stated on his podcast.

Minihane further claimed that two sources “high up in the Patriots organization” had confirmed this information to him.

The potential reunion of Brady and Belichick in Las Vegas would be a significant development in the NFL. The duo’s partnership with the New England Patriots resulted in six Super Bowl victories, establishing one of the most successful dynasties in NFL history.

Belichick, 72, is currently working as an analyst after parting ways with the Patriots at the end of last season. He makes regular appearances on ESPN’s Manningcast and The Pat McAfee Show. Despite speculation about an immediate return to coaching, Belichick was overlooked for positions like the Atlanta Falcons job. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Belichick is interested in returning to coaching in 2025.

The Raiders, currently led by head coach Antonio Pierce, are struggling with a 2-4 record this season. The franchise hasn’t won a division title since 2002 and has cycled through 12 head coaches in that time, indicating a need for stability and success.

Brady’s entry into Raiders ownership wasn’t without challenges. His approval was delayed for over a year due to concerns from other NFL owners regarding his role as a Fox NFL analyst. Brady began his 10-year, $375 million contract with the network this season, leading to restrictions on his television work as part of the deal allowing him to become a Raiders co-owner.

As the Raiders potentially head into a new era, the possibility of a Brady-Belichick reunion adds an intriguing dimension to the franchise’s future.
