Call it a case of very rotten luck. A man in Tennessee has been arrested after authorities say he tried to rob a Knoxville police officer who was sitting in an unmarked police car.

Citing a police report, the Knoxville News-Sentinel says the officer was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car in a parking lot Saturday when 22-year-old Brandon A. Williams opened the passenger door and demanded money.

Police say the officer identified himself and drew his weapon, prompting Williams to flee before being caught.

Williams has been charged with attempted robbery, assault, evading arrest and resisting and possession of drug paraphernalia. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

Hopefully this guy will get to spend some time doing hard labor in prison.

IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH IN SYNC FOR THIS GUY TO ENTER THE POLITICAL ARENA. IN FACT, IT REMINDS ME OF THE PRESENT TACTIC OF OUR PRESIDENT. ATTEMPTED PLOT TO ROB AMERICA (ONLY HE SUCCEEDED) AND RUN OFF WITH HIS ILL-GOTTEN GAIN AND TAXPAYER – FUNDED RETIREMENT. THE DOJ IS QUITE UNLIKE THIS UNDER COVER OFFICER, IN THAT, HE APPREHENDED HIS BAD GUY AND THEY REFUSE TO EVEN CHASE THEIR BAD GUY(S).

His next few years in lock-up will either make him smarter or completely destroy him. Odds say the latter. I hope Williams beats the odds. I hope he wises up and lives a useful life.

Just one more note. I got into lots of trouble as a juvenile. The Marines rescued me from lengthy jail or prison time. So I have a bit of empathy for youngsters like Williams. Hopefully he can turn his life around.
