Bill Belichick, the legendary former head coach of the New England Patriots, just landed a new job for the upcoming NFL season.

On Thursday, the CW Network recently announced that Belichick will join the analyst team for the long-running show “Inside the NFL,” marking a new chapter in his illustrious football career.

Belichick, who led the Patriots to an unprecedented six Super Bowl victories during his 24-year tenure as head coach, is set to bring his football knowledge and insight to television audiences.

The move comes as a surprise to many who remember Belichick’s notoriously terse and often uncooperative relationship with the media during his coaching days.

The announcement of Belichick’s role on “Inside the NFL” is just one part of his expanding media portfolio. He is also slated to make appearances on the popular “ManningCast,” a alternate broadcast of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” hosted by former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.

Additionally, Belichick has already dipped his toes into the world of sports media by participating in “The Pat McAfee Show’s” NFL draft coverage in April, with plans to continue his weekly appearances on the show throughout the upcoming NFL season.

On “Inside the NFL,” Belichick will join a panel of analysts including Ryan Clark, Chad Johnson, and Chris Long. Interestingly, both Johnson and Long had brief stints playing under Belichick in New England, adding an intriguing dynamic to their on-screen interactions.

“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise. I’ve always appreciated ‘Inside the NFL’s’ depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros — Ryan, Chris and Chad — this coming season,” Belichick said in a statement released by the network.

“Inside the NFL,” now in its 48th season, is produced by NFL Films. Belichick always expressed reluctance to engage with reporters during his coaching career, but has shown a different side when participating in NFL Films productions.

This is not Belichick’s first foray into NFL-related media content. In 2019, he was part of the NFL Films series “NFL 100 All-Time Team,” which aired on NFL Network. His work on this project even earned him a nomination for a Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Studio Analyst category.

As Belichick transitions from the sidelines to the studio, football fans and media observers alike will be watching with great interest. His experience leading one of the most successful dynasties in NFL history, could provide viewers with unprecedented insights into the sport.
