Boston Councilmember Tania Fernandes Anderson has shaken her colleagues by “swearing, yelling and screaming” in the council chamber, an insider told Fox News on Friday.
The insider leaked a video of Fernandes Anderson’s 2022 remarks about redistricting… and it’s not pretty.
In the video, Fernandes Anderson objected to the council’s decision to “take redistricting and give it to a white councilor,” but she didn’t stop there.
“Councilor Breadon, a white woman, has it [redistricting duties],” Fernandes Anderson said on the council chamber at the time.
“We have fought a very long time. It is 2022… Here, people are not innocent until proven guilty. People are guilty first. People are crucified. People are lynched… What the f**k do I have to do in this council to get respect as a Black woman? I’m not afraid of anybody here.”
Worse yet, some attendees were encouraging her.
“I can’t even call you cowards because desperation deserves mercy,” Fernandes Anderson told her colleagues, over chanting from the attendees.
“Your votes here sometimes are racist. You move sometimes in a way that hurts my people. And then when I get up to stand up talk, ‘Oh, all she talks about is Black stuff.’ I am here to represent every Black woman and man in the community. God has my back.”

The insider described a pattern of outbursts.
“It’s a threat. I feel like it’s a threat,” the source said about her comments. “I think she’s a troubled person. I don’t necessarily want to see someone that’s troubled get into more problems. But it is a problem [that she is in government]… It’s very disturbing.”
Fernandes Anderson has yet to respond publicly to Friday’s Fox News report. Previously, she’s reportedly defended her outbursts as attempts at candor. She reportedly called herself “a language person” and added, “I think about how to be raw on purpose.”
“Whatever the f— is the problem work it out and leave out your evil resentments,” Fernandes Anderson told her colleagues in a text message obtained by Fox News.
“Toughen the f— up… I don’t want to always feel I need to give anyone smoke because when it comes to family, I know we are all capable of becoming warriors.”
