President Biden’s State of the Union address was a blatant campaign rally masquerading as an official presidential report to the nation — and one moment left Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., very unhappy.
At 81 years old and lagging badly in the polls, Biden desperately needed to convince Americans not just of his policy vision, but of his basic cognitive ability to serve another term. However, his uneven performance raised more doubts than it resolved.
It even managed to anger members of his own political party. Pelosi seemed furious that Biden used the word “illegal” to describe the illegal immigrant that kidnapped and murdered an innocent 22-year-old student at Augusta University during a botched rape attempt.
Pelosi seemed more angry that the elderly Biden used un-woke language to describe the murderer — rather than the fact that an innocent young American died at the hands of a suspected gang member who had been caught, and released, by the U.S. Border Patrol under Biden’s orders.

While Biden opened with attacks on the January 6th riots and thinly-veiled attacks on “my predecessor” Donald Trump, he lacked the vigor and command his supporters claim.
Despite brief moments of energy, Biden still frequently stumbled over words and names — and it undercut his efforts to demonstrate he is sharp enough for the immense duties of the office. GOP rising star Sen. Katie Britt characterized him as “dithering and diminished” in the Republican response.
On substance, Biden fully embraced the extremist position of demanding federal tax dollars continue bankrolling abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. He failed to address out of control inflation.
Instead, he derided the Supreme Court’s ruling that makes protecting unborn life a states rights issue, and ironically accusing the Justices sitting before him of assaulting “freedom.”
The President also unsurprisingly dodged responsibility for the crisis levels of illegal immigration caused by his open border policies.
While talking about democracy being under threat, Biden ignored how his own dereliction of duty at the southern border has enabled a modern-day invasion of America by millions of illegal immigrants.
Instead of securing the U.S.-Mexico border, Biden built walls around the Capitol during his speech — a striking symbol of the elite hypocrisy that has gripped politicians in D.C. Politicians hide behind imposing walls while leaving hardworking citizens exposed to record levels of crime, drug trafficking, and public safety risks brought by Biden’s refusal to secure the nation’s borders.
Biden’s address merely reaffirmed his administration will continue the same stale, failed liberal ideology that has stoked multiple crises during his tenure. From the southern border to abortion extremism, preserving American democracy seems a much lower priority for this President than appealing to his radical base.
