Fox News: Trump’s VP pick should be…

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany recently floated a potential front-runner for the 2024 vice presidential candidate of Donald Trump.

Moderate Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin would be a unifying 2024 vice presidential candidate, McEnany said during a recent Fox News appearance.

The Trump campaign has shot back at McEnany’s public advice recently, and Trump previously nicknamed his former staffer “milktoast.”

But the Fox News studio audience embraced the unorthodox pick of Youngkin by McEnany.

“I’m going to throw a name out there: Glenn Youngkin,” McEnany proposed on last Monday’s “Gutfeld!” program, arguing the moderate Republican could “bring in independents.”

Host Greg Gutfeld asked if the moderate Virginia governor would get along with the famously brash Trump.

“I think so,” McEnany replied. “But Glenn Youngkin can do it. Look, Biden’s down 17 in the state, Glenn Youngkin’s up 24 — bring on that guy!”

But don’t expect the announcement any time soon.

Trump quickly slammed McEnany’s advice as unwelcome, writing on his TruthSocial app: “I don’t need any advice from RINO Kayleigh McEnany on Fox. Just had a GIANT VICTORY over a badly failing candidate…and she’s telling me what I can do better. Save your advice for Nikki!”

Last May after a ratings quibble, Trump dubbed McEnany “Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany” and added “FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”

While McEnany analyzes Trump’s next campaign move from media sidelines, the leading Republican presidential candidate remains characteristically independent from outside guidance – even from former top aides – favoring allies to bolster his undisputed leadership of the GOP.

While the governor’s red vest has drawn lighthearted comparisons to beloved comedian icon Fred Rogers, Gutfeld questioned whether Youngkin’s mellow temperament could co-exist on a ticket alongside the fiery former president known for attacking rivals. McEnany expressed confidence in possible chemistry.

But Trump and McEnany’s relationship deteriorated recently when she shared false poll numbers in May.

“Kayleigh ‘Milktoast’ McEnany just gave out the wrong poll numbers on FoxNews,” Trump wrote in the spring on his social media account. “I am 34 points up on DeSanctimonious, not 25 up. While 25 is great, it’s not 34.”

Trump continued in a follow-up post: “The RINOS & Globalists can have her. FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”
