NBC News reporter stunned by border chaos

The mainstream media actually visited the chaotic U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday — and one NBC News reporter admitted that what he was seeing was unprecedented.

It was “the most people I’ve ever seen in Eagles Pass” Texas, he told MSNBC, and the Biden administration knew it was going to happen.

“Two things to keep in mind. One is that we saw large groups in Mexico, about a month to two months ago, making their way to the U.S. a lot of us knew this would happen because immigration isn’t enforcing the laws inside of Mexico,” NBC News correspondent Guad Venegas said.

“These crowds here in Eagle Pass have never been this large during my reporting,” Venegas told MSNBC host Jose Diaz-Balart. “This is the most people I’ve ever seen in Eagle Pass, and other reporters, colleagues working other parts of the border in Arizona, in Jacumba near San Diego tell me the same thing.”

“We have these conversations and the conversation is always, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen this number of migrants arriving,’ and we know from the reports coming from the government with these numbers,” Venegas reported.

“We have the number of apprehensions, the numbers of encounters, everything spiking, so we don’t know what this will mean moving forward, we just know that the numbers are much larger as the resources are spread thin,” he said about the border chaos.

Venegas also said the overwhelmed border was spiraling into an unmanageable humanitarian crisis.

“I’ll give you an example of what can happen when we have these surges. Yesterday we saw maybe four to five of these migrants carried out on stretchers by some of the first responders that are part of Border Patrol,” Venegas said. “They then got taken to a medical tent and … a U.S. congressman who visited this area, Tony Gonzalez, said that the hospitals are also overwhelmed.”

“If someone calls 911 and needs to go to the hospital, that hospital might be overwhelmed because they’re helping a lot of these migrants. So, you have that humanitarian crisis happening as well,” Venegas said.

“That’s aside from everything that Customs and Border Protection has to do to process these migrants that are here seeking asylum,” he concluded.
