Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, was indicted in federal court Thursday on nine tax-related counts, including six felonies.
In the run-up to the indictment, the American people were asking grave questions about the extent of the president’s involvement in his son’s shady businesses.
But White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre would rather end a press conference than answer these questions.
Philip Wegmann, a White House reporter at RealClearPolitics, pointed out Monday that President Biden reportedly received a payment from one of his son’s businesses. At a press conference, Wegmann asked Jean-Pierre whether Biden ever accepted the payment.
Wegmann asked, “The White House has said repeatedly that the President and his son were never in business together. They’ve said that repeatedly also in this room. According to bank records obtained by the House Oversight Committee, though, one of Hunter Biden’s businesses, Owasco PC, set up direct payments to the President. Did the President accept payment? And why would there be such an arrangement if they were never in business together or if there was a wall of separation, as the President has previously said?”
Jean-Pierre gave a non-answer. She referred the reporter to the president’s legal advisors… before abruptly ending the conference.
She said —
So, I have to be clear with you: I — I have not seen that report, so I would have to refer you to my colleagues over at the White House Counsel’s Office on that particular question.

Jean-Pierre also gave press conferences on Wednesday and Thursday, but she wasn’t asked any questions about Hunter Biden.
