“On the Holmes Front,” with Frank Holmes
With Donald Trump winning his primary by 50 points and regularly beating Joe Biden in the polls, the Democrats think they’ve found the perfect solution to hold onto power: Get a “Republican” to stab him in the back.
Enter John Anthony Castro, a “Republican” presidential candidate.
You may not know his name, but court officials do.
He’s filed lawsuits in 16 states to keep Donald Trump’s name off the ballot, claiming the 14th Amendment disqualifies him…because he led an “insurrection” against the government.
“They have targeted red states where Trump will win,”said Elgine McArdle, chair of the Republican Party inWest Virginia, the latest state where Castro struck. “It’s all part of the same leftist mentality — if you can’t beat them on the ballot, keep them off of the ballot,”
Of course, Castro—an appropriate name—is no Republican at all.
In March 2004, Castro ran against four other candidates for County Commissioner Webb County, Texas…as a Democrat. (He came in dead last.)
The Democrats have been beating the drum about the 14th Amendment ever since January 6th…and they’re not just relying on their “Republican” friends.
The Supreme Court of Minnesota will hear a case to keep Trump off that swing state’s ballot this November 2. That lawsuit was filed by a group called “Free Speech for the People,” which began trying to impeach Trump on inauguration day.
The Minnesota case is “hopefully the first of many,” said Occupy Democrats, the far-Left lobbying group trying to drag the Democratic Party closer to the views of AOC and The Squad.

“Watch this case! It’s likely to be the one that gets to the US Supreme Court,” said Lawrence Tribe, a Harvard Law professor and favorite legal commentator in leading Democratic circles.
Watch this case! It’s likely to be the one that gets to the US Supreme Court first and that settles Trump’s eligibility to be president again and to run for the GOP nomination despite Section 3 of the 14th Amendment https://t.co/wgWatUCnMh

But the Left knows they’re going to lose, so they’re also trying to discredit the Supreme Court.
“The court’s impartiality is increasingly in doubt!” screamed MSNBC’s Ali Velshi as the screen flashed the words “Legitimate Crisis” over the Supreme Court.
Dozens of lawsuits have been filed across the country to keep Trump off the ballot, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Experts expect that the argument will be taken all the way to the Supreme Court – but the body’s impartiality is increasingly in doubt. #Velshi pic.twitter.com/PI5veC3bMo

Deep down, liberals know that voters don’t want one party picking which candidates they’re allowed to vote for.
But Democrats never put all their eggs in one basket: They now claim that Democrats don’t need a court ruling: They can just decide not to put Trump—or any of their opponents—on the ballot.
“Secretaries of state and other election officials across the country have the power to determine whether candidates meet the qualifications for office,” said Reich in a video posted this week.
There's been growing chatter about Section 3 of the 14th Amendment and how it can be used to keep Donald Trump off election ballots for inciting an insurrection. Here's what you need to know. pic.twitter.com/rAUeMQ4XLR

“This is not about partisanship,” Reich insisted.
Sure, Bob.
But Politico knows better. It reported in 2008 that “Democrats have built an administrative firewall” by taking “control of secretary of state offices” in “key states.”
“With a Democrat now in charge of the offices, which oversee and administer their state’s elections, the party is better positioned than in the previous elections to advance traditional Democratic interests…rather than Republican priorities such as stamping out voter fraud.”
Democrats are also in “a more advantageous position when it comes to the interpretation and administration of election law.”
And Politico has stuck to its story.
A Politico/Morning Consult push poll released Friday morning says—once they’re properly coached—“51 percent said the 14th Amendment prohibits Trump from running again because he engaged in insurrection.”
Some say keeping Republians off the ballot just goes back to the Democrats’ roots…as the party of slavery.
“If Democrats keep Trump off the ballot in their stronghold states, would that be first time they’d kept a Republican off the ballot in multiple states since 1860, when ten Democrat states kept Abraham Lincoln off the ballot?” asked Federalist editor Mollie Hemingway.

Those close to Trump say the 14th Amendment gambit is just the Left’s attempt to beat Trump by scuttling democracy—and they aren’t going to let up.
In the early days of the Trump administration, they tried to “use 25th Amendment (to) wiretap the deputy attorney general and have the director of FBI go in there to try to take out Donald Trump, a sitting duly elected president, with a Deep State actor,” said Kash Patel, who served in the Trump White House. “They will be using 17 other amendments to try to remove Donald Trump from ballots, to have the state secretaries of state prohibit from his name being even on the ledger.”
“These guys are never going to stop,” said Patel.
If the Left won’t stop erasing the will of the people, they must be stopped. And that’s just what officials in West Virginia plan to do.
“I will vigorously defend the Constitution to ensure every eligible candidate, including Donald J. Trump, has the right to seek their party’s nomination at West Virginia’s primary election until instructed otherwise by the court,” said West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, a Republican.
The state GOP has already lined up legal support from the American Center for Law and Justice, led by President Trump’s lawyer, Jay Sekulow, which is also active in other states where Castro has filed suit.
After all, what good is the right to vote if you don’t get to decide who you vote for?
