Army general questions US military readiness under Obama

The Army’s top general says military forces on the ground face a high level of risk if the United States gets into a large-scale conflict against a power such as Russia or China.

Testifying Wednesday on Capitol Hill, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley says years of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, constrained budgets and troop cuts have had a cumulative effect on the service.

Milley says the Army is ready to fight the Islamic State group and other terrorist organizations.

But what Milley describes as a “great power war” against one or two of four countries — China, Russia, Iran and North Korea — would pose greater challenges.

Milley says the Army’s readiness is not at a level that is appropriate for what the American people expect to defend them.

The fact that the military is ready to fight should not be a surprise tis was and is all part of OBAMA’S plan to take the country down.

Hear! Hear! The lying traitor, Obozo, misses no opportunity to weaken or demoralize our fine military. Here is a small example of that ongoing effort, Bill Whittle’s video, “Sir, I will not obey that order”:

I just saw video of interviews with currently deployed soldiers. They state that they are having to share weapons. A soldier’s weapon is a highly personal thing and his life depends on it. Costs of rifles estimated at $250, not an outrageous sum.
Wonder how many could have been purchased for the amount the Obamas have spent on their vacations.

I served in the Marines from May 75-79. I was barely too young for Vietnam service. And the older Vets couldn’t stop telling me how lucky I was to miss it. Long story short, I served under President Carter. And at that time the military budget was cut to the bone. I didn’t qualify on the rifle range one year, because they wanted to save the money the rounds would have cost. They also said that my support MOS didn’t require me to be up-to-date on the rifle range. So I was a member of the Armed Forces when money was tight as it is now. I just hope we don’t have a major war any time soon.

Under TI’s from Vietnam era. Great bunch!! Got inadvertently RIF’d before tacking on SSgt. I’ve a trucker most of my life since. Thanks, Caldwell

I was also in the Army Guard during Carter’s years. I became a 2LT in 1975 and I thought Pres. Ford was a cheapo but Carter was horrible. We had heavy armored vehicles dead lined in the GS maintenance yard for years because of no money to repair them. The attempted raid in Iran failed because the choppers also suffered extended maintenance schedules and the sand kills the engines and rotors.

Carter was the last demo-rat I ever voted for. I was young and mad at Ford for pardoning Nixon and thought Jimmy Carter, an Annapolis grad would be good for the services after the Viet Nam drawdown. Man, was I ever wrong!

President Reagan was elected and money for parts and more importantly for the individual soldier., schools and training began anew. I went to Ft. Benning for the Infantry Officer Advanced course right away before any monies were cut and then followed with Senior educational requirements by 1985 I was way ahead of my peers in schooling. I retired in 2005 with 38 years of service, 10.5 active and the rest reserve and guard. four combat and hostile fire tours gave me the perspective from especially a deployed command to never trust a liberal with the military.

I hope Ted Cruz wins this fall, if not I will accept Donald. I fear if Klintong wins. I had a SGM on my staff that worked in the Clinton White House. he told me she was vulgar, vile and hated the soldiers with her manner and speech. Both Donald and Ted would restore respect for the services.
