Report: Biden says COVID-19 origin likely a lab leak

The Biden administration’s Energy Department said the most likely origin of the COVID-19 virus was from a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China, according to a bombshell new report by The Wall Street Journal.

Biden’s Energy Department was previously undecided about the origin of the deadly pandemic.

For years the mainstream media dismissed speculation that the virus was a lab leak, and insisted COVID-19 came from Wuhan “wet markets.”

Those who disagreed with the mainstream narrative were dismissed as conspiracy theorists and sometimes banned on social media.

The first victims of COVID-19 appeared in Wuhan around November 2019. By March 2020, the deadly virus had spread around the world and caused mass panic and brutal lockdowns.

The Journal, citing classified intelligence, said the Energy Department’s change in position to the lab leak theory is “low confidence” and that there are still divisions within the intelligence community on what was behind the spread of COVID-19.

The FBI had previously concluded with “moderate confidence” that COVID-19’s spread was a result of a lab leak.

There are four other intelligence agencies — as well as the National Intelligence Council — still believe with “low confidence” that COVID-19 was a natural transmission from an infected animal.

According to The Hill —

Two other agencies, one of which was identified as the CIA, still haven’t drawn a conclusion.

There is agreement across the government that the virus wasn’t the product of a biological weapons program in China — a conspiracy theory that has sometimes been conflated with concerns about a lab leak.

The classified intelligence report cited by The Wall Street Journal was reportedly provided to some congressional lawmakers and the White House.

The position change is noted in a recent update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines, per the Journal.

White House national security advisor Jake Sullivan said there’s unlikely to ever be a “definitive answer” regarding where COVID-19 originated from.

“There is a variety of views in the intelligence community. Some elements of the intelligence community have reached conclusions on one side, some on the other. A number of them have said they just don’t have enough information to be sure,” Sullivan reportedly told the Journal.

“Here’s what I can tell you. President Biden has directed, repeatedly, every element of our intelligence community to put effort and resources behind getting to the bottom of this question.”

“But, right now, there is not a definitive answer that has emerged from the intelligence community on this question,” he later added.

Critics point out that the Chinese Communist Party has blocked investigators searching for the viruses origin.

Sen. Rick Scott called for the U.S. to hold the “evil regime” controlling China accountable.

The left spent the past 2yrs trying to censor the truth & cover up for Communist China, but the facts are undeniable.

The CCP is evil. Its virus killed millions & Xi will stop at nothing to destroy the U.S. It's time to hold this evil regime accountable. https://t.co/dWqctQwzra
