Former President Donald Trump has strongly hinted that a formal announcement of his 2024 presidential campaign would be made soon.

That could come as soon as Monday night, insiders are saying.

Trump may announce his campaign on the eve of the 2022 midterm elections, where voters are expected to deliver big for the Trump-endorsed candidates and the Republican Party.

According to Axios reporter Jonathan Swam, insiders say Trump is increasingly eager to hurry up his timetable for his comeback presdential bid and may make it tonight at a “Save America” rally in Ohio, where the 45th president will stump for Republican senatorial candidate J.D. Vance.

Based calls/texts all morning, Trump/Vance rally in Ohio will be v closely watched by Rs. Speculation has reached a point of absurdity at this point but many Rs of varying degrees of closeness to Trump are anticipating accelerated announcement based on his recent private comments

The Washington Examiner reported that Trump was originally expected to announce his candidacy next Monday, hoping to ride a wave of enthusiasm and Republican victories on Tuesday.

Instead, Trump may be looking to get ahead of Republican victories and solidify his place as the GOP kingmaker to warn off potential rivals.

Republican leaders have tried to keep Trump on the sidelines of the 2022 midterm election over polls that show he can be divisive among critical swing voters.

But it seems Trump’s eagerness to jump into the race has increased along with Republican polling advantage in recent weeks.

“In order to make our country successful and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again,” Trump teased Thursday during a rally in Iowa. “Get ready, that’s all I’m telling you — very soon. Get ready.”

There’s no guarantee that the formal announcement will happen tonight.

“There’s a lot of back-and-forth right now, no one really knows if it’s going to happen tonight or if it’s going to happen in a week or so,” Swan reported a source told him.

“Trump himself is the one who wants to do it ASAP,” Swan said. “No one knows right now whether it’s happening tonight or not.”
