No more blood money! Kasich stops Planned Parenthood funding

February 22, 2016 By: Stephen Dietrich

  • Post

It’s a move being celebrated by conservatives and pro-lifers everywhere. And it could help save the lives of thousands of unborn babies.

Gov. John Kasich signed legislation Sunday to strip government money from Planned Parenthood in Ohio, meaning not another red cent of federal funds will head toward the country’s largest abortion provider’s coffers in the Buckeye State.

The legislation targets the roughly $1.3 million in funding that Planned Parenthood receives through Ohio’s health department.

It prohibits such funds from going to entities that perform or promote abortions, their affiliates and those that contract with an entity that performs abortions.

The bill doesn’t name Planned Parenthood, but backers of the legislation have acknowledged the organization will be the most affected. They want the money to go to health centers and other providers that do not perform abortions.

Lawmakers approved the legislation Feb. 10, but Kasich’s office did not receive it until Thursday.

The measure follows an outcry among abortion opponents around the country after the release of secretly recorded videos by activists alleging that Planned Parenthood sold fetal tissue to researchers for a profit in violation of federal law.

Three of Planned Parenthood’s locations in Ohio provide abortions, and thanks to Gov. Kasich’s pen stroke Sunday they’re now excluded from receiving anymore federal funds in Ohio.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

Planned parenthood in this instance is clearly an oxymoron as it is actually planned murder of the unborn. The closest thing to ancient Molech worship we have in America. Very sad.

Yes let’s address waste and abuse. Abortions are legal. It’s the law of the land.
Yet many states are unnecessarily wasting tax payer money on defending anti-abortion laws. http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2014/01/24/3202001/states-abortion-laws-budgets/

The GOP and Libertarian mantra of get government off our backs does not seem to apply to women who are still dominated by a Patriarchal Society.

It is a fact that educated women have less children. They get it. Women should decide for themselves and their bodies. Others should mind their own business.

If the result of Kasich adopting this policy is that he increases his chances to win the election as you suggest then you are actually saying `don’t trust the people’ – but that is all we mean by democracy, let the people decide.

Just the fact that he is stopping the murder is enough for me. There are so many people out there that can’t have children for one reason or another and are crushed every time a child is aborted. It’s especially heinous in partiL life abortions. When you have to actually burn the flesh off of them, or break up their tiny bodies and suck them out, it’s just Inhumane. Look it up if you have the stomach. Look up some late term abortions if you still don’t get it

when PP runs out of funding, they will try to sell the little body parts in huge numbers, maybe importing them from the countries that people like the Feminazi’s have forced abortion providion on. Sooo President Trump will tax them outta sight as the first move, then tax the foreign material RECIPIENTS outta sight and I’m sure he will be given a lot of other methods from Right To Life, because he is LISTENING to Americans.

Maybe so, but maybe he actually is pro-life. Why put a negative spin on a positive action? That can be construed to be a mean spirited response on your part. At the very least, be glad he did what he did, and that he is not kowtowing to Planned Parenthood. It gives a good indication of the direction in which his moral compass is pointing. It’s hard not to be cynical these days, but we need to respond positively when a positive result has been achieved. In this case, the glass is half full. Why not be happy and supportive of this outcome? I’ll be voting for Cruz, but I’d be happier voting for Kassich if I thought he had a chance of winning the nomination. Can’t even remotely consider Trump, Hillary, or Sanders.

He will not get the nomination, and he well knows it, but he definitely is a great leader off his state! He in my opinion, is a super example of the conservative, and I didn’t mean the Republican Party. Thankyou Governor Kasich!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop the use of Common Core in our school systems, stop the illegal immigrants from receiving any benefits or jobs, mandatory drug testing for all welfare recipients, refuse to allow Obama to send Muslim refugees to cities in Ohio. Allow our schools to be controlled locally without Federal mandates.

Unlikely, as birds of a feather tend to hang out together. I doubt Trump is in the same moral league as Kasich, and I’d seriously question Kasich’s judgement if he’d even consider sharing a ticket with Trump.

Who knows? Maybe he would vote differently if he wasn’t running for president, butI haven’t seen, or read, anything to indicate he’d have voted any differently, so I’ll just be happy he voted as he did. Why go cynical if you don’t have to? By their fruits shall you know them. Then you can make an informed decision in support or opposition. Haven’t heard anything negatory yet about Kasich, so I’ll remain positive in my opinion of the man until I do. I’d like to vote for him instead of Trump, Clinton, or Sanders, but may be forced to vote for Cruz if Kasich’s
numbers don’t improve significantly in the near future.

My position is “if it is not your body, it is none of your business.

Thank You, Grover, for stating America’s liberty and freedom, for each of us to make our own choices, WITHOUT the communist US government overthrowing ALL of our liberties. So far, those of you who have no idea the ways of an illegal President killing America from The Oval Office, Do some research online. Treason by a foreigner, associating with our enemies, and for the rest of you, research the Clintons selling Uranium to Russia and the US Missile Guidance System technology to China. Follow the real American patriotic citizens. Planned Parenthood, with government dollars, is very vital to those women without any medical plan, or dollars to pay for a doctor’s appointment. And where do you think women , of all ages, will receive the treatment and care that they need? No, you aren’t in the position to run other people’s lives, or to make their choices for them without being the doctor who is advising women, the course of treatment, and the necessary care that all women are entitled to receive in America. FIGHT FOR AMERICA, not with those trying to give us to the United Nations Agenda 21.

Good political decision for the people in Ohio. Women should not be given the right to make a decision about abortion. This is a decision for the state and churchs to stamp out. We need a lot of people to carry on the work and form a tax base. This cannot be achieved if parenthood is allowed to be planned and/or limited. Abortion should not even be allowed to save the lifebof the mother, that is a risk she must acept when she allows herself to become pregnant. God bless America.

Wouldn’t it be nice to trust again. In order for us to place a vote these days we are asked to weigh what is said, what is implied though not said, their history of what’s said versus what is done. Then what he has said and done when no ones looking. Look at his financial history and check his wealth and how quick it came. Net worth for we the people are lucky to double or maybe triple it in our life time. Politicians can double their net wealth in a term for Senators and in 3 terms for the House. Wow! Kasich believes abortion is murder. He wants to eliminate federal funding for it. I believe capital punishment (execution) is murder. It’s a planned murder in the highest degree. I think all states that have capital punishment should have all their federal funding stopped. You can’t believe in one and not the other.

I don’t know whether women should be allowed to have abortions or not. But I definitely believe that we the tax payers should not have to pay for abortions. With the birth control available these days, women should not get pregnant unless they want to or are too lazy to use birth control. Except in the case of rape. All of the medical procedures available at planned parenthood are available at clinics with the exception of abortions. Planned Parenthood was another Obama freebie handed out at the expense of our tax dollars whether we wanted it or not. I have heard claims that getting rid of Planned Parenthood would be racial as the majority of the women using it are black. Then where did all these black children come from? My main complaint is that Planned Parenthood is another example of Obama “going to do what I want no matter what you say” attitude.

Abortion is murder. It is murder for convenience. If all the aborted babies had been allowed to be born, grow up, get a job, pay taxes and pay into social security we wouldn’t be in so much trouble right now with that. Two generations of would be working Americans have been murdered. They could have been contributing citizens, inventors, educators, doctors, missionaries, mothers, fathers, etc. The murder of the innocent has been practiced by heathen civilizations for 1000s of years. It is not right; it never has been right. Every civilization that has ever engaged in this practice eventually came to ruin. God help us. Thank you Kasich for making a stand.
