In an act of deja vu, U.S. intelligence officials are warning of a massive effort to influence this year’s elections—but this time, there’s a twist.
This time, the “intelligence community” is not warning about Russia, Russia, Russia, or even China intervening for former President Donald Trump.
It’s communist Cuba — and you can guess which party they’re working for.
Intelligence agents say Havana has a plan to interfere with the 2024 elections in the one state most pivotal to their interests: Florida.
“We’ve seen interest in downballot races,” an intelligence agent told news outlets. “On Cuba, we very much expect that the same kind of activity will occur.”
Florida has the largest number of Cuban-American voters, many of them descended from proud anti-Communists refugree — and its entire elective slate is hostile to Marxism in general and Cuban interests, in particular.
Cubans’ efforts in 2024 will be “aimed at denigrating specific U.S. candidates in Florida,” said the official. Communist agents plan to target legislators their leader deems anti-Cuban.
U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez said he believes Havana is going to take aim at him and a few of his fellow Florida Republicans, including Reps. Maria Elvira Salazar and Mario Diaz-Balart.
Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio are outspoken in their hostility to Cuban Communism—and so is Governor Rick DeSantis, all Republican leaders.
Election interference from a foreign power against the Republican Party? Shouldn’t the Democrats be screaming about this? Shouldn’t the legacy media be calling this “a threat to our democracy”?
They haven’t said a word.
This isn’t the first time they’ve ignored Communist meddling in U.S. elections. In fact, Cuba already tried to interfere in the 2022 midterm elections, officials say.
As a matter of fact, at least as far back as 2020, Americans saw “an increasing alignment of efforts between accounts that promote Russian, Cuban, and (Venezuelan government) disinformation and propaganda narratives,” according to Special Envoy Lea Gabrielle, who was then the coordinator of the State Department’s Global Engagement Center.
Of course, under Joe Biden, Americans have witnessed an increasing convergence of Russian and Cuban military and naval power—as President Vladimir Putin just sent a fleet of Russian naval ships to the Communist island less than 100 miles off the coast of Florida.
Some additional Cuban interference might be coming right across the southern border. Border Patrol agents have found a record-breaking number of Cubans crossing through the Mexican border. “Slightly fewer than 425,000 Cubans were encountered at U.S. ports of entry in fiscal years 2022 and 2023, according to CBP, and 200,287 of those arrived in fiscal year 2023,” reported Politico, relying on data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Cuba isn’t just targeting the United States; it’s trying to spread the withered tentacles of Communism throughout North America.
“Speaking of foreign interference, the Castro regime in Cuba arranged an event in Toronto to push communism as a cure for global everything. They were confronted by anti-communist Cubans refugees chanting ‘Librata!’” said National Telegraph reporter Daniel Bordman.

But Havana’s spokespeople in the United States deny every allegation made against the banana republic’s intelligence operations.
The Cuban government went ballistic—rhetorically speaking—over the allegations.
“A new fraudulent campaign against Cuba in the US, without evidence or facts, suggests interference in US elections. An absolute lie,” wrote the vice president of the Cuban consulate’s Ministry of Exterior Relations, Carlos F. de Cossio. “What is true, is the consistent attempts by the US gov, with official funding approved by Congress, to interfere in Cuban domestic affairs.”
“Once again, US media lies mercilessly by spreading false information about alleged Cuban interference in the US elections. Cuba does not interfere in the electoral process of other countries.” one of his fellow employees, Gabriela Glez, chimed in.
Sure, comrades.

Maybe Cuba’s talking heads think Americans don’t know about its long history of Cold War spying on the U.S., or the way it sent its criminals and asylum patients to Florida during the Mariel boatlift.
Just this April, a former U.S. Ambassador—73-year-old Manuel Rocha—pled guilty to spying on the U.S. for Cuba.
Rocha received 15 years in prison and a fine that totaled half-a-million dollars.
Then again, may all the Deep State’s talk of foreign interference against Republicans in 2024 is just as false and misguided as its fallacious statements that Russia interfered in favor of Republicans in 2016 and 2020. Given the domestic spying architects’ shameful record of dirty dealing with President Donald Trump and his allies, it’s impossible to know.
The Deep State managed to achieve one of our enemies’ top objectives: undermining Americans’ faith and trust in their own government. Unfortunately, that nasty bit of wet work was an inside job.
